For the people who go toward it
Confidential counseling and evaluation for police, fire, EMS, dispatch, corrections, military and the families who live with the schedule. Same standards as anyone else; no explaining required.
Press 1 for appointments. Tell us what line of work you are in — it changes how we schedule you, what we verify with your insurance and what we can write.

Who this is for
If you work in a job where other people leave, this page is for you. So is it for the people who come home to you.
Police and sheriff’s office
Patrol, detectives, school resource officers, jail and court staff.
Fire and EMS
Firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, wildland and hospital crews.
911 dispatch and comms
The calls nobody hears. Back-to-back trauma with no debrief and a headset you cannot take off.
Corrections and transit
Long hours, hypervigilance and a workplace that expects you to be fine.
Active duty, Guard and Reserve
Licensed care in Texas, including for families stationed or living here.
Veterans and retirees
Coming out of the service, or coming home from a career you never left.
Spouses and kids
When one person works the shift, the whole household keeps the schedule.
Other shift and on-call work
Hospital crews, behavioral health, utilities and telecom. Any job where the radio decides when you eat.
What we actually hear
Sleep and shift work
Flipped schedules, night rotations and sleeping badly enough that everything else feels impossible. We start here, because nothing else works on four hours.
What you saw and did
Trauma accumulates. It shows up as irritability, drinking, panic, numbness, flashbacks or simply not wanting to come home.
Anger that scares you
The short fuse that used to be an asset on the street and is not one at the kitchen table.
Anxiety and depression
Including the version you do not admit out loud because of what people in your job might think.
ADHD and autism in adults
Plenty of responders are wired for high-stimulus work and never got tested. If you have always needed structure to function, an evaluation can explain why.
Family strain
Missed events, the silent car ride home, a partner who stopped asking, kids who walk on eggshells.
None of this is a verdict. Plenty of responders have a bad month and do not need a therapist. We are not the people who decide whether you can do your job — and we would rather talk with you early than late.
Counseling
Individual, couples and family therapy with licensed marriage and family therapists and professional counselors. Trauma, sleep, anger, anxiety, depression, grief, substance use, retirement, and the ordinary strain of an extraordinary schedule.
Telehealth anywhere in Texas with providers board certified in telemental health, which is usually the only format that survives a rotating shift. More about counseling.
Evaluation and testing
A structured evaluation when something needs to be understood or documented: ADHD or autism in an adult who has held a demanding job for years, a learning or language disorder, a diagnostic evaluation, or testing on your child.
We also do report and letter work — court and legal, disability paperwork, and evaluations an agency or attorney needs. Our assessments, and how legal evaluations work.
Confidentiality, said plainly
- We do not contact your department, command, union, chaplain or HR. They do not get a record, a letter or a "he came in" without your signed authorization.
- Your care is protected health information under HIPAA. Our Notice of Privacy Practices explains how it is used.
- Two honest limits: if someone is in immediate danger, and if a court lawfully orders records.
- If your job involves a fitness-for-duty process, a security clearance, an internal investigation or a workers' compensation claim, call before your first appointment. We will tell you what we can do, what we will not do, and who would see what.
Coverage and cost
We work with TRICARE and most major plans — Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Magellan, Optum, UnitedHealthcare, Texas Medicaid and others. Benefits differ by plan and by whether the visit is therapy or testing, so we verify before your first appointment rather than surprise you after.
Self-pay rates, payment plans and CareCredit financing are available, and report or letter work is billed separately from sessions. Details on insurance and fees and coverage.
Tell us about language needs or accessibility needs when you call — what we are required to provide is spelled out on our client rights page.
How to start
- Call 817-735-4165 and say you are calling about responder or military-related care, and whether you need counseling or an evaluation.
- We check your benefits, or quote self-pay, before you commit.
- We match you with a provider — a good fit matters more than a fast one, and you can ask for someone who does not work your local network.
- Please give at least 2 business days’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and missed appointments may be charged a fee. What to bring.
Questions responders actually ask
Will you tell my department, command or employer?
No. We do not contact your employer, union, chaplain or command, and we do not send them records, unless you sign a written authorization asking us to. Your treatment is protected health information under HIPAA. Two exceptions worth knowing up front: if someone is in immediate danger, and if a court orders records released. If your job has a fitness-for-duty, return-to-duty or reporting requirement, call us before your first appointment and we will tell you plainly what we can and cannot write.
Do I need a diagnosis to be seen?
No. You can come in with a concern, a bad call that stayed with you, a sleep problem, or a marriage that has gone quiet. Some insurance plans require a diagnosis to reimburse counseling; we check that with you before services begin.
Do you take TRICARE?
We work with TRICARE and most major plans, and we verify a specific plan’s benefits before your first visit. Self-pay and CareCredit financing are also available. See insurance and fees for the full list of carriers.
I would rather not be seen near my precinct or post.
Understood. Telehealth is available anywhere in Texas with a provider who is board certified in telemental health, so you can be seen from your own car, on a day off, in a town two counties over. In-person visits are at our Fort Worth office.
Can you see my spouse or my kids?
Yes. We do marriage, family and child counseling, and we assess children and teens for ADHD, autism, learning and language disorders. When the job is what changed, treating the household is often faster than treating one person.
Can you write letters for a disability claim or for my agency?
Sometimes, and it depends on what you are claiming. We do disability paperwork for SSI and SSDI applications, court and legal reports, and evaluations when an agency or attorney needs documentation. Fees for report and letter work are separate from therapy. Call with the exact form or request and we will tell you whether we are the right people for it.
What if I am not in crisis but I am not okay?
That is the right time to call. Most people we see waited months or a year. You do not have to be at the bottom, and you do not have to explain it well on the phone.
Is this going to be one of those "just breathe" sessions?
No. Our providers are licensed marriage and family therapists and professional counselors who work with real, specific problems and set goals with you. If faith and spirituality matter to you, we can include them when you ask.
If you are the one holding it together for everyone else
Call and say what you do. We will tell you the truth about scheduling, coverage and confidentiality before you commit to anything.
